LA Family Housing helps people transition out of homelessness and poverty through a continuum of housing enriched with supportive services.

Through our OUTREACH & ENGAGEMENT process, LAFH connects participants with HOUSING PLACEMENT combined with SUPPORTIVE SERVICES to help thousands of people transition out of homelessness and retain long-term housing stability. We increase our impact through COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS and REAL ESTATE DEVELOPMENT, supported by FINANCIAL SUSTAINABILITY.

We helped 10,808 people connect with and retain housing in 2020.

Advocate

We believe that together is how we end homelessness in people’s lives. Join us and turn your passion into action by attending trainings, canvassing, and advocating on behalf of our homeless neighbors. Here are some actionable items to help you be a part of the solution.

Description

How you will help:

Learn about homelessness in L.A. and lead your own project to help LAFH provide services to those experiencing homelessness. YAC Members get an opportunity to learn important principles of leadership and service while making an impact in our community.  YAC members must be in high school and be available for monthly meetings.  This is an excellent way to fulfill service hours!  

What to expect:

Every meeting is different! Sometimes we have an educational component, sometimes there is a service project or activity.  This year we will be keeping the meetings virtual and the service opportunities remote for safety purposes, but will resume in person service as soon as we are able.  

LA Family Housing offers a variety of ways for youth to volunteer at LA Family Housing, whether at a one-time service event or on an ongoing basis.
